Most BRIT award nominations in a single year

On 24 January 2024, singer-songwriter RAYE (UK, b. Rachel Keen) landed a single-year record seven nominations ahead of the 44th edition of the BRIT Awards: British Album of the Year (My 21st Century Blues), Song of the Year (“Escapism.” (feat. 070 Shake) and “Prada” (feat. Cassö & D-Block Europe)), British Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, Best R&B Act and Best New Artist.

RAYE was already a four-time BRITs nominee prior to 2024. She received three collaborative Song of the Year nods in 2018 (“You Don’t Know Me”), 2021 (“Secrets”) and 2022 (“Bed”), and she also made the shortlist in the revived Dance Act category in 2022. Additionally, on 4 May 2023, RAYE was one of the first 13 recipients of the British Phonographic Industry’s (BPI) BRIT Billion award, in recognition of 1 billion digital streams in the UK.

The 2024 BRIT Awards are scheduled to take place at London’s O2 Arena on 2 March.

Robbie Williams (1999), Craig David (2001) and Gorillaz (2002) all picked up six nominations in a single year.
