Fastest-selling PlayStation 5 exclusive videogame

After taking the lead in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Insomniac Games, 2020), Miles teamed up with Peter Parker to battle Kraven the Hunter in follow-up Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (Insomniac Games, 2023), the third entry in the series. The game was an instant hit, shifting 2.5 million copies within the first 24 hours of its release on 20 Oct 2023. By the end of the month, 11 days later, sales had reached 5 million units, making it the fastest-selling PS5 exclusive. By May 2024, sales were up to 11 million, according to Sony.

The second and third best-selling PS5 games are The Last of Us Part II (Naughty Dog, 19 June 2020, PS4), which sold 4 million in 3 days, and the first Marvel's Spider-Man (Insomniac, 9 September 2018, PS4), which shifted a respectable 3.3 million in 3 days.
