Recounting the true story of teen gamer turned pro racing driver Jann Mardenborough, Gran Turismo (USA, 2023) had grossed $117,862,107 (£96.4 million) at the worldwide box office, as of 12 January 2024 according to The Numbers.
The biopic, directed by Neill Blomkamp, follows the young gamer (played by Archie Madekwe) as he converts his virtual skills on Gran Turismo (Polyphony Digital) to the real world after he's recruited by Nissan to join their GT Academy programme. Aged 19, Mardenborough was the youngest winner at the GT Academy competition.
