The most National Hockey League seasons scoring 50 or more goals is 9 and has been achieved by three players: Mike Bossy (Canada) with the New York Islanders from 1977/78 to 1986/87, Wayne Gretzky (Canada) with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers from 1979/80 to 1998/99, and Alex Ovechkin (Russian Federation) with the Washington Capitals since the 2005/06 season.
Ovechkin also holds the record for most seasons scoring 40 or more goals in an NHL career (13). He surpassed Gretzky's record of 12 in March 2023.
