Most wins of the unlimited class at the National Championship Air Races

The most unlimited-class wins at the National Championship Air Race is eight, achieved by Steven Hinton Jr between 2009 and 2023.

Steven Hinton is the son of two-time unlimited-class champion Steve Hinton Sr, and first rode in an air-racing plane when he was five years old. His first four wins were in a heavily modified North American Aviation P-51 Mustang called Strega, owned by fellow air racer Bill Destefani, and he subsequently won flying two other modified P-51s, Voodoo and Bardahl Special.
