The most lift generating wings on a flying remote-controlled (RC) model aircraft is 20 and was achieved by Peter Sripol (USA) in Yellow Springs, Ohio, United States on 4 December 2023.
Thought up as an experiment by Peter to test the limits of how many wings you can add to an aircraft before drag and lack of stability cause it to crash which on numerous test flights Peter struggled to fly the contraption, but due to persistence and excellent engineering know-how, Peter achieved a sustained flight with banked turns and climbs, proving that you can make anything fly if it has wings.
Using the same latin-based naming convention as biplane (two wings) and triplane (three wings), this should properly be called a vigintiplane.
