The oldest Judo World Champion (male) is Teddy Riner (France, b. 7 April 1989), who was aged 34 years 36 days when he won the men's +100kg final on 13 May 2023 in Doha, Qatar.
Riner won his 11th individual world title in 2023, defeating Russian Inal Tasoev in the heavyweight final. His opponent was later awarded a shared gold medal by the International Judo Federation, owing to a missed counterattack during the extra time golden score period. Riner completed a remarkable double, being also the youngest male judo world champion because of his first win in 2007.
