The largest known duck-billed dinosaur is the Lambeosaurus. which grew up to 9 - 15 m. (30 - 50 ft) long and weighed 5.6 tons. A herbivour which lived during the Cretaceous period, it roamed the earth in herds 65 - 83 million years ago.
The duck-billed platypus (Ornithorhynchus adnatinus), is not related, but as a comparison, it is the lightest monotreme (egg-laying mammal) today with a head-body length of 45 - 60 cm. (17¾ - 23½ in) and a weight of 1 - 2.4 kg. (2 lb 3 oz - 5 lb 5 oz) for the male.
