The most heavily bombed country in the world has been Laos. It has been estimated that between May 1964 and 26 February 1973 some 2.26 million tonnes (5 billion lb) of bombs of all kinds were dropped along the North to South Ho Chi Minh Trail supply route to South Vietnam.
