The longest time spent living in an underground cave (male) is 463 days, and was achieved by Milutin Veljkovic (Serbia) in Kopajkošara, Serbia, from June 1969 to September 1970.
Milutin later released a book in which he recounts his experience which included enduring floods, hallucinations and, at one point, having to extract one of his own teeth. He survived on mostly canned and dried food.
