First twins born in different decades

As the 2010s transitioned into 2020s, Ascension St Vincent Carmel Hospital in Carmel, Indiana, USA, welcomed a pair of twins born to Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello (both USA): Joslyn Grace Guilen Tello arrived at 11.37 p.m. on 31 December 2019 and her brother, Jaxon DeWayne Mills Tello, followed half an hour later at 12.07 a.m. on 1 January 2020. They are the first set of twins on record to have been born not just in different years but in two different decades.

The twins were born seven weeks' premature having been due on 19 February 2020. Joslyn weighed 4 lb 11 oz (2.12 kg) and Jaxon 4 lb 4 oz (1.92 kg).
