The Coca-Cola company agreed to pay out US$192.5 million in November 2000 after four African-Americans, representing 2,000 other employees, accused the company of race discrimination in 1999.
The workers accused the world's biggest soft drinks company of racial discrimination in the form of pay, promotions and performance evaluations between April 1995 and June, 2000. An external body will be examining employment practices at the company and suggesting improvements with Coca-Cola's agreement.
