The largest runner bean leaf (Phaseolus coccineus) had dimensions of 63.8 x 67.7 cm (2 ft x 2 ft 2.7 in) and was grown by Peter Glazebrook (UK) as assessed at the CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championships, held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, on 23 September 2023.
At the same event, veteran competitive vegetable grower and multiple record holder Glazebrook from Newark, Nottinghamshire, also claimed the title for the heaviest bell pepper, with a weight of 750 g (1 lb 10.4 oz).
The previous month, on 20 August 2023, the National Vegetable Society ratified that he had also grown the longest runner bean pod, measuring 89.7 cm (2 ft 11.31 in).
