This surpassed the previous highest total of $817,691,766 (£647,464,694), set by Wonder Woman (2017), directed by Patty Jenkins (USA).

Frozen II (2019), co-directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, remains the highest-grossing film with a female director at the global box office, as of August 2023.

Barbie, released on 21 July 2023, was also the highest-grossing film by a female director at the domestic box office (opening weekend).
