The “explicit version” of “Seven” by Jung Kook (South Korea, b. Jeon Jung-kook) feat. Latto (USA, b. Alyssa Stephens) had registered 100 million filtered streams on Spotify by 21 July 2023 – the eighth day after its worldwide release on 14 July – according to Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Global” chart. After posting 15.99 million first-day streams – the second-highest figure ever for a male vocalist in 24 hours – “Seven” had racked up 89.74 million streams by 20 July and went over the 100-million threshold with another 12.30 million the following day. “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus also logged a cumulative 100 million filtered streams on Spotify on its eighth day of availability, 20 January 2023, starting with an unrivalled 96.03 million plays in the first week.


As of 1 August 2023, “Flowers” was the only track on Spotify to have posted higher streaming figures than “Seven” (89,748,171) in a single week: 115,156,896 on 20–26 January 2023, 104,380,337 on 27 January–2 February 2023 and 96,032,624 on 13–19 January 2023.

BTS member Jung Kook was both the first K-pop solo artist to log 10 million+ streams in a single 24-hour period on Spotify (a feat he achieved for the first 14 days of his track’s availability, i.e., 14–27 July) and the first K-pop solo artist to reach No.1 on the platform’s “Weekly Top Songs Global” chart.
