On 17 June 2023, “Promise” by Jimin (South Korea, b. Park Ji-min), SoundCloud’s most streamed track, had accumulated 330 million plays on the Berlin, Germany-based platform. “Promise” was released on 31 December 2018 and racked up an unrivalled 8.5 million streams in the first 24 hours.


Elsewhere, rap artists dominated SoundCloud’s most streamed tracks, as of 18 July 2023. “Fuck Love” by XXXTENTACION feat. Trippie Redd (308 million), “XO Tour Llif3” by Lil Uzi Vert (259 million) and “Lucid Dreams” by Juice WRLD (250 million) were all in hot pursuit of Jimin’s 330 million.

“Promise” had attracted 255,915 fan comments on SoundCloud by 18 July 2023.

Jimin’s group, BTS, had 4.49 million followers on the same date. Germany’s SoundCloud (2008–) boasts the most tracks on a music streaming service – in excess of 300 million – and 76 million active monthly users.
