The fastest circumnavigation of the Great Loop by personal watercraft (PWC) is 22 days 5 hrs 40 mins, and was achieved by David Fries (USA) starting and ending in Annapolis, Maryland, USA from 15 June to 7 July 2024.

David wanted to complete the Great Loop because he loves boating and wanted to show his kids how to plan for and accomplish their dreams. He was supported by Brent “Squirrel” Perry, who provided mechanical and logistical assistance, as well as serving as the chase driver.
