The most World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships gold medals won by an individual is 18, by Dina Averina (Russia) at four tournaments from 2017 to 2021.

Averina won five our of six possible gold medals at the 2021 World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, to surpass the career tally of the great Evgenia Kanaeva (17). Averina triumphed in the clubs, ball, hoop, team and individual all-around events. No other rhythmic gymnast can match her four all-around world titles. She has also won three silvers and a bronze at the worlds, for a total of 22 medals.
