The youngest wheelchair tennis player to be ranked world No.1 is Tokito Oda (Japan, b. 8 May 2006), who was 17 years 35 days old when he replaced Alfie Hewett at the top of the ITF (International Tennis Federation) world rankings on 12 June 2023, two days after winning his maiden Grand Slam title, against Hewett in wheelchair singles, at the 2023 French Open.
Oda is the youngest-ever male winner of a Grand Slam singles title, lifting the trophy after prevailing 6–1, 6–4 on the clay at Stade Roland Garros.
Dutchman Niels Vink (b. 6 December 2002) was 19 years 98 days old when he topped the quad singles rankings on 14 March 2022. Hewett (UK, b. 6 December 1997) was 20 years 54 days when he reached No.1 in wheelchair singles on 29 January 2018. Oda eclipsed them both in Paris.
