The most Australian Open Women's doubles titles won is 16 by Thelma Long (née Coyne) (b. May 30, 1918)  who won 12 women's doubles and four mixed doubles titles. The Open era of tennis (since 1968) sees Martina Navratilova with the most doubles titles – nine in total – eight in the women's in 1980, 1982–85 and 1987–89 and one mixed doubles title in 2003.
