Ireland's Johnny Logan (b. Seán Sherrard, Australia) and Sweden's Loreen (b. Lorine Talhaoui) are the only two performers to have won the Eurovision Song Contest twice since the event began in 1956. Logan was crowned the king of Europe with “What’s Another Year” (1980) and “Hold Me Now” (1987); Loreen took the honours with “Euphoria” (2012) and “Tattoo” (2023) – the latter making her the first female two-time winner and providing Sweden with their record-equalling seventh triumph at the annual contest (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023). Ireland (1970, 1980, 1987, 1992–94 and 1996) have also won seven times.

Additionally, Logan wrote Linda Martin’s 1992 winner for Ireland, “Why Me?”, which makes him the individual with the most wins overall at the Eurovision Song Contest – three.
