The most Olympic gold figure skating medals won by a woman is three, achieved by Sonja Henie (Norway) between 1928 and 1936; Irina Rodnina (USSR) between 1972 and 1980; and Tessa Virtue (Canada) between 2010 and 2018.


Henie won three ladies’ singles titles in 1928, 1932 and 1936, while Rodnina won the pairs event in 1972 with Alexei Ulanov and again in 1976 and 1980 with Alexander Zaitsev. Virtue, partnered with Scott Moir, won the ice dance in 2010 and 2018 and the team event in 2018.
