Found when owners of Heineman Winery, Put-In-Bay, Ohio, USA, excavated 40 ft beneath the winery to dig a well in 1887, the so-called "Crystal Cave" is a single geode of strontium sulfate (SrSO4), otherwise called celestite. The celestite crystals line the walls of this cave are up to 18 inches (46 cm) across and weigh up to 300 lb (136 kg). The geode is 35 ft (10.7 m) at its widest point, around 10 ft (3 m) high and can comfortably contain more than six people at a time.
