Tom Stoppard's (UK) "The Coast of Utopia" holds the record for Most Tony Awards for a play. At the 2007 Tony Award ceremonies, the production garnered Tonys for "Best Play" (for Tom Stoppard and The Lincoln Center Theater); Best Featured Actor (Play) (Billy Crudup); Best Featured Actress (Play) (Jennifer Ehle); Best Director (Play) (Jack O'Brien), Best Scenic Design (Play) (Bob Crowley and Scott Pask); Best Costume Design (Play) (Catherine Zuber); and Best Lighting Design (Play) (Brian MacDevitt, Kenneth Posner, and Natasha Katz). "The Coast of Utopia" by Tom Stoppard. The record holder, as such, is the production, itself, although the play is by a British playwright, had both British and American actors and was directed by an American.
