On 26 October 2022, with just three tracks available to stream on Spotify, singer/rapper Lisa (Thailand, b. Pranpriya Manobal) reached the landmark of 1 billion streams. The two tracks from Lisa’s debut single album LALISA – lead single “LALISA” and follow-up “MONEY” – and “SG”, a collaboration with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion that had been released four days previously, enabled the BLACKPINK star to rack up 1 billion streams on Spotify faster than any other K-pop artist – 411 days – although the record was broken by Jung Kook from BTS on 27 March 2023 when he amassed 1 billion streams for his three available tracks in 409 days.

On 28 April 2023, Lisa’s single album LALISA – featuring the tracks “LALISA” (312 million) and “MONEY” (688 million) and released on 10 September 2021 – became the first album by a solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. A "single album" denotes a physical release of any length featuring one or more singles. The format is considered to be distinct from the more traditional one-track singles – typically released digitally or made available for streaming – and is exclusive to the South Korean music market.
