On 8 March 2023, South Korean quintet NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein) achieved 1 billion streams on Spotify in 219 days – faster than any other K-pop act (solo male, solo female or group). The girls had just six songs available on the platform at this time: their four-track debut EP “New Jeans” (released on 1 August 2022) and the singles “Ditto” and “OMG”.

NewJeans shattered Lisa’s K-pop all-comers’ record of 411 days from 26 October 2022 (the solo-artist record was subsequently broken by Jung Kook, with 409 days on 27 March 2023).

“Ditto” (313.2 million) and “OMG” (312.4 million) were neck-and-neck in the race to be labelled NewJeans’ most streamed track on Spotify, as of 4 May 2023. The group released their latest single, “Zero”, on 3 April 2023 (18.07 million streams as of 4 May 2023).
