The chariot race scene in Ben Hur (USA 1925), starring Ramón Navarro (Mexico) (1899–1968), for which editor Lloyd Nosler (USA) (1900–1985) has to compress 60,960 m (200,000 ft) of film into a sparse 228.6 m (750 ft), was the most edited scene in cinema history with a ratio of 267:1.

Historian Kevin Brownlow commented: 'Those 750 feet are among the most valuable in motion picture history.'
