The longest take in a movie comprises the whole of Kevin du Toit's BugNight (US 1998) and consists of  84 minutes of a flashback at a diner where nine hostages are being held up. Written by John Kim, it was filmed on 20 Dec 1998 using Sony's digital DSR300 camera, which holds 3 hours of tape.
