Tallest paper cup

The tallest paper cup, measuring 2.53 m 8ft 3in high was created by Bunzl Disposables Europe with the help of Polarcup on 1 Feb 2000 in Epsom, Surrey, UK. The paper cup was filled to hold 4,930 litres (1,084.45 gal) of water by the local fire brigade at Epsom Racecourse. To ensure that the tallest paper cup was a scaled up version of a normal paper cup, it was made with 13 layers of paper and had a watertight seam. Once the record had been verified the water was poured onto Epsom Racecourse, therefore returning the water to the local water table.
