Shah Rukh Khan (India) was the most in-demand actor in the world in 2022–23, according to data-science firm Parrot Analytics, with a global demand rating 53.2 times greater than that of the average actor across that period.
Khan made his screen debut in the TV series Fauji ("Soldier", DD National; 1989) and has starred in more than 90 films to date. He is best known for his roles in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Veer-Zaara (2004).
"King Khan" (as he is commonly known in the Bollywood industry) and his wife, Gauri Khan, also launched the Red Chillies Entertainment production company in 2002.
