Fastest North Sea crossing by single sea kayak (Canoeing)

On August 28,1999 Ian Castro, Rod Cooke and Simon Worsley (UK) completed the fastest North Sea crossing in single kayaks in a time of 24 hr 20 min. The crossing was made from Aldeburgh to Zeebrugge, a distance of 87 miles (140 km). The three men are all part of Lowestoft and District Canoe club.
The crossing has knocked more than four hours off the previous record.
