The third season of Succession (HBO, USA) picked up a record 14 nominations in the acting categories at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, as announced on 12 July 2022. The fourth (and final) season of the show equalled this record with another 14 nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, as revealed on 12 July 2023.

Succession beat the record of 12 acting nominations in a drama series in a year received by 2001–02 season of The West Wing (NBC), and bested the overall record of 13 nods for the miniseries Roots (ABC) from 1977.

Succession was also the most name-checked show at both the 2022 and 2023 Emmy Awards with 25 nominations and 27 nominations, respectively. In 2023, this put it ahead of the 24 nominations received by the debut season of the videogame adaptation The Last of Us (HBO) and season two of The White Lotus (HBO). All top three shows were produced by HBO, which along with Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon meant the network had four contenders in the running for the Outstanding Drama award, a feat not seen since 1992 when NBC secured a quartet of nominations in that category.
