Mumbai thrashed Uttarakhand by 725 runs in the quarter-finals of India’s Ranji Trophy on 6–9 June 2022. Uttarakhand were bundled out for 114 and 69 replying to Mumbai’s 647 for 8 declared and 261 for 3 declared at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Alur, Bengaluru (Bangalore), India. Player of the Match Suved Parkar, on his first-class debut, top-scored with 252 for Mumbai.

Previously, New South Wales defeated Queensland by 685 runs in Australia’s Sheffield Shield in Sydney on 3–7 January 1930, with Don Bradman scoring 452 not out – a first-class record at the time – in the hosts’ second innings of 761 for 8 declared. Mumbai obliterated the previous Ranji Trophy record of 540 runs, set by Bengal against Orissa (Odisha) on 12–14 December 1953.
