The longest distance para ice swim by a male, under International Ice Swimming Association regulations, is 2.11 kilometres (1.31 miles) by Jonty Warneken (UK) on 19 January 2014. He swam for 58 minutes 54 seconds in Lake Ellerton, North Yorkshire, UK.

The water temperature was 4.87°C (40.76°F) and so just qualified under IISA criteria that an ice swim must take place in water sub-5°C (41°F). The swim was ratified by the International Ice Swimming Association.

Warneken underwent a below-knee amputation of his left leg following a motoring accident and also has osteoarthritis in his right ankle.

Currently the longest ice swim overall is 4.70 km (2.92 mi), swam by Krzysztof Kubiak (Poland) at Lake Ełckie in Poland on 3 April 2022. Kubiak was in the water for 1 hour 23 minutes 18 seconds.
