Isle of Man’s tour of Spain ended in calamity on 26 February 2023 when the visitors were skittled for just 10 runs – the lowest score in any men’s professional T20 match – at La Manga Club in Cartagena.

Spain’s opening bowlers, Mohammad Kamran and Atif Mehmood, picked up four wickets apiece as Isle of Man were bundled out in 8.4 overs. Joseph Burrows top-scored with four; six of his teammates bagged ducks, including three first-ballers. Kamran took a wicket with the first ball of the match (a T20 International), and claimed a hat-trick with the first three balls of his second over. Spain won by 10 wickets, with Awais Ahmed smashing the first two legitimate deliveries of the reply for six. The other run came from a no-ball.

Isle of Man’s capitulation in Spain played out just 72 days after Sydney Thunder had folded for 15 runs against Adelaide Strikers on an altogether grander stage: Australia’s Big Bash League at the Sydney Showground Stadium on 16 December 2022. Thunder’s innings lasted just 5.5 overs – 17 balls fewer than Isle of Man’s effort – as they posted what was, at that time, the lowest-ever men’s T20 score.

Isle of Man’s 10 all out also trumped Czechia’s demolition of Türkiye (21 all out in 8.3 overs) in Romania’s Continental Cup on 30 August 2019 as the lowest team score in a T20 International. There have been four totals of 10 or less in women’s T20 Internationals: Mali Women (against Rwanda Women) and Maldives Women (against Bangladesh Women) were both dismissed for six runs in 2019. Two days after each team set their record lows, they were bundled out for 10 and eight, respectively, against Uganda Women and Nepal Women.
