The first woman to qualify for a Call of Duty Challengers Elite tournament is Kelsie "Kels" Grieg (UK).
21-year-old Grieg, playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022, Infinity Ward) alongside her teammates James "Genesis" Smith, Conor "BBConor" Beale and Ewen "Disarray" Harmer, qualified for the first season of the Call of Duty League Challengers Elite tournament on 5 Jan 2023.
Grieg’s participation is notable within the male-dominated Call of Duty esports scene - it’s the highest achievement for a female Call of Duty player in the Activision-run Call of Duty League.
Call of Duty Challengers Elite is designed to elevate the best amateur teams in North America and Europe, with 12 of the best teams from both regions competing for a dedicated prize pool and time in the spotlight.
