The first human-powered expedition on the Southern Ocean South to North was achieved by captain Fiann Paul (Iceland), Jamie Douglas-Hamilton (United Kingdom), Lisa Farthofer (Austria), Stefan Ivanov (Bulgaria) and Brian Krauskopf (USA) who rowed on the open waters of the Southern Ocean from King George Island, Antarctica to Laurie Island, Antarctica between 11 January and 17 January 2023 onboard ocean rowing boat Mrs Chippy.
