The highest resolution commercially available satellite images are available from the GeoEye-1. This exceptional resolution is moderated by the operating licence for the satellite by the US government, who have stipulated that all pictures must be resampled and supplied commerically at 0.5 m ground resolution unless end-users are granted a ''waiver'' to possess the highest resolution available.
