Vic Armstrong (UK), in a career spanning five decades, has been a stuntman, stunt co-ordinator and director in more than 250 films, incuding all the Indianna Jones films and having doubled for every actor to have played the title role in the James Bond Series.
He is married to stuntwoman Wendy Leech, whom he met when they doubled for the stars of Superman (USA, 1978).
He was awarded the Oscar for Technical Achievement on 3 March 2001 for 'the refinement and application to the film industry of the Fan Descender for accurately and safely arresting the descent of stunt persons in high freefalls'.
On 24 February 2002 he was given the Michael Balcon Award by BAFTA for outstanding British contribution to cinema.
