Oldest woman to give birth to triplets

Arcelia Garcia, aged 54, from Sunnyside, Washington State, USA, gave birth to three girls (Arianna, 3lb 7oz; Brianna 5lb 12.5oz; and Cecilia 5lb 1.5oz) by Ceasarian section on 8 Jan 2000, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Garcia was already mother to eight and grandmother to fifteen.

In September 2008, an unnamed woman of Asian descent gave birth to triplets at the Cochin maternity hospital in Paris, France, at the age of 59 years. The triplets two boys and a girl weighed 2.3 kg (5.1 lb), 2.1 kg (4.6 lb) and 2.4 kg (5.2 lb). This claim has yet to be substantiated.
