National lottery - most millionaire winners in a single draw

The UK's National Lottery gave away the most winning tickets worth £1million in one day, when The National Lottery Big Draw 2000, held on 31 Dec 1999 created 18 winning tickets of £1million ($625,000). More than £80.5 million ($50.31million) was raised by the £5 ($3.12) ticket sales for the one-off game which gave players two chances to win. In Game One, where players chose six years from 1900 to 1999, two ticket holders scooped £3,563,220 ($2,227,012) each. Game Two created the 18 £1million winners each of whom matched the two drawn years with those on their tickets - 1575 and 2832 - one from the last thousand years and the other from the next thousand.
