Most nominations in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards

Al Murray and James Acaster (both UK) have each been nominated five times at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, currently sponsored by UK comedy channel Dave. Murray was first nominated in 1994 for Harry Hill’s Pub Internationale with Al Murray, with subsequent nominations from 1996 to 1999 (when he won). Acaster achieved five consecutive nominations from 2012 to 2016.

Inaugurated in 1981, the Edinburgh Comedy Awards recognize the best comedy shows to appear at the UK's world-famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe, held annually in the Scottish capital. It was originally sponsored by Perrier to promote young comic talent.
