Most expensive costume worn by a pop star sold at auction

Elvis Presley's (USA) white peacock jumpsuit was bought for $300,000 (£153,560) by an American investor in a sale by online auctioneer gottahaveit.com on 7 August 2008. The costume, designed by Bill Belew (US), was one of Elvis' favorites which he wore on stage extensively during a five-month stretch in 1974, including a performance at the Los Angeles Forum on May 11, 1974. He is also pictured wearing it on the cover of the album and the single 'Promised Land'.
