The highest altitude frozen lake half-marathon is 4,273 metres (14,019.03 ft) and was achieved by LAHDC, Leh and Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh (both India) on Frozen Pangong Lake, in Leh, Union Territory of Ladakh, India on 20 February 2023.
The main aim of the event was to promote eco-friendly practices and tourism in the region. The frozen lake is also a popular spot for ice-hockey. The winter months provide a perfect window for local and international ice-hockey enthusiasts. The event promoted the sustainable and environmental-friendly side of tourism of Leh.
