The highest altitude achieved in an electric truck is 6490 metres (21,296 feet 7 inches) and was achieved by David Koller, Patrik Koller and David Proeschel (all Switzerland) on Ojos del Salado, on the border of Chile and Argentina, on 3 December 2023.

The three Swiss Peak Evolution Team Members David Koller, David Proeschel and Patrik Koller know each other from early childhood. They have always been interested in engineering and vehicle design. They are also ambitious mountaineers and share the love for the mountain wilderness. Out of this grew the idea to promote electric mobility for commercial off-road vehicles that operate in mountain areas. They decided to prove that electric mobility is superior to combustion engines in extreme environments and set out to set a new world record. They designed and built their “Terren” truck over a period of four years.

The team covered the entire distance in their self-built, road legal, fully battery electric truck weighing in at 6800 kg. The truck was charged exclusively from a mobile solar powerplant that was transported within the truck.
