Shakira (Colombia, b. Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) has amassed 41 awards at the Billboard Latin Music Awards since the annual event was first staged in 1994. Her tally includes Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year (2010–11, 2016–18), Female Pop Album of the Year (Pies Descalzos, 1997; Dónde Están los Ladrones?, 1999; Fijación Oral, Vol. 1, 2006; El Dorado, 2018), Hot Latin Song of the Year (“La Tortura”, feat. Alejandro Sanz, 2006; Hot Latin Song of the Year – Vocal Duet (“Hips Don’t Lie”, feat. Wyclef Jean, 2007) and the Spirit of Hope Award in 2006.

Shakira’s most recent award was Latin Pop Artist of the Year, presented at the 28th Billboard Latin Music Awards in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, on 23 September 2021.

Shakira was ranked eighth by Billboard in their “Greatest Latin Artist of All Time” survey (2020) and ninth in their “Greatest Hot Latin Songs Artist of All Time” list (2021). “La Tortura” (No.5) and “Whenever, Wherever” (No.15) are in Billboard’s “Greatest Hot Latin Songs of All Time” Top 20.
