Bad Bunny (b. Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) has won Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards three times – in 2020 (X 100PRE), 2021 (YHLQMDLG) and 2022 (Un Verano Sin Ti). At the 29th Billboard Latin Music Awards in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, on 29 September 2022, the world-renowned rapper broke a four-way tie with two-time winners Enrique Iglesias (2009 and 2011), Romeo Santos (2013 and 2015) and Juan Gabriel (2016–17).
An overall Latin Album of the Year category was first introduced in 2008, alongside the genre-specific awards – initially pop, tropical/salsa, regional Mexican and contemporary Latin jazz – that had been handed out since the first Billboard Latin Music Awards in 1994.
