Most Billboard Latin Music Awards nominations for a female artist in a single year

Karol G (Colombia, b. Carolina Giraldo Navarro) received 15 nominations ahead of the 29th Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2022. Announced on 18 August 2022, her nods included Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year (“Mamiii”, with Becky G) and Top Latin Album of the Year (KG0516).

At the ceremony on 29 September 2022, Karol G picked up three awards: Hot Latin Song of the Year – Vocal Event (“Mamiii”, in a category featuring four Bad Bunny tracks), Hot Latin Songs Female Artist of the Year and Top Latin Albums Female Artist of the Year. Anitta, Becky G, Kali Uchis, Natti Natasha and Rosalía were Karol G’s competitors in the Artist of the Year categories.

With 15 nominations in 11 categories, Karol G eclipsed the previous record for a female artist of 12, set by Jenni Rivera in 2014 and matched by Shakira in 2018. Karol G was an eight-time nominee in 2021, an event that saw her retain the Hot Latin Songs Female Artist of the Year and Top Latin Albums Female Artist of the Year titles she won in 2020, on her way to a consecutive hat-trick of wins in both categories in 2022.
