The stage of the Bellagio Theatre in The Bellagio Casino Resort and Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA measures 339 m² (3,650 ft²) and is divided into four sections that are supported by four lifting systems. Each system is able to raise one of the four sections synchronously (or not) through a pool which contains 5.6 million litres (1.24 gallons /1.5 million US gallons) of water.
In order for water to escape properly though the mnoving stage, the stage's floor is comprised of 40,000 holes. The lift travels at a speed of 6 m per minute (20 ft/min) The lift system was specially manufactured by Handling Specialty Manufacturing Limited in Ontario, Canada for Cirque du Soleil (Montreal). The company's troupe performs the production titled "O" in, above and under water.
