Games in the Call of Duty (Activision), The Legend of Zelda (Nintendo) and God of War (Sony Interactive Entertainment) series have each won Game of the Year twice at the D.I.C.E. Awards: Call of Duty and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare took the top prize in 2004 and 2008, respectively; Legend of Zelda titles Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild won in 1999 and 2018; the first instalment of the God of War series (for the PlayStation 2) claimed the award in 2006 and, in 2019, PlayStation 4’s God of War bagged the honour at the 22nd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.
The D.I.C.E. Awards – the videogames industry’s equivalent of the Oscars – have been presented by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences since 1998.
